SeleMit Selenium

SeleMit® delivers 200 mcg of selenium in its inorganic form, sodium selenite — chosen specifically because it's absorbed faster than organically bound (yeast-based) selenium forms.

This makes SeleMit® particularly well-suited for addressing acute selenium deficiency, since the mineral is rapidly available for selenoprotein synthesis rather than requiring conversion.

Selenium is an essential trace mineral and a key cofactor for several protective enzyme systems in the body.

It supports glutathione peroxidase, an enzyme central to the body's antioxidant defenses, and thioredoxin reductase, which plays a role in regenerating the active form of CoQ10 (ubiquinol) from ubiquinone — making selenium status relevant even for cellular energy metabolism.

Selenium contributes to normal thyroid hormone synthesis and function, supports a properly functioning immune system, helps protect cells from oxidative stress, and maintains normal hair, skin, and nails. It's also involved in normal sperm formation and fertility.
