Rhodiola rosea, also known as golden root or arctic root, is one of the most extensively researched adaptogenic herbs, traditionally used in Scandinavian and Russian folk medicine to help the body cope with cold, altitude, and physical stress.

Biogena's formula delivers a standardized root extract with a guaranteed 6 mg of rosavins and 2 mg of salidrosides per capsule — the two key bioactive compound groups studied for their role in supporting the body's stress response.

Mechanistically, salidroside and rosavins modulate the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis, the hormonal system that governs cortisol release during stress.

Salidroside in particular helps regulate this axis, dampening excessive cortisol release rather than suppressing it outright — supporting steady energy and mental clarity rather than a jittery stimulant effect.
